An estimated 5.4 million people in the United States have Alzheimer’s
disease, according to a 2011 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures
report found in the Chicago Alzheimer’s Association. The Futon Shop’s green mattress
sale this March marks their highest green variety of organic mattress
selection and is a great opportunity for consumers to purchase chemical
free products. Two-thirds of those with the disease are women. By 2050,
researchers from the Safer Chemical’s Organization study estimate that
the number of people with the disease will nearly triple to 16 million.
With these staggering statistics, questions arise of why this is
happening and how to prevent these numbers from increasing.
