National Napping Day

Is anyone else as tired as I am. I am dreaming of being in my bed napping under the covers. With Daylight timing hours messing up our internal clock, naps are just what we need to recover from the change. My lucky 14 month old baby boy gets o take two naps a day plus at least 10 hours at night in his crib. This must be why babies are such a joy to be around..their parents are making sure they are getting enough sleep to function and be healthy. Something happens as we become adults. Sleeping gets put on the back burner and we become workaholics and this is looked as a good thing. Have you ever noticed people brag about how hard they are working and how they get little sleep. Well..it turns out we really need sleep.

According to Huffington Post...Napping has many benefits:
Napping Boosts Alertness
Napping Improves Learning And Memory
Napping Increases Creativity
Napping Boosts Productivity
Napping Lifts Your Spirits
Napping Zaps Stress

 A new way to nap!

here are other countries that take a nap or siesta during the day:

The siesta is traditional daily sleep of the Iberia peninsula and through Spanish influenced, of Latin America countries. afternoon sleep is also common habit in China, India, Italy (riposo in Italian), Greece, Croatia, Malta. the Middle East and North Africa. in these countries, the heat can be unbearable in early afternoon, making a midday break in the comfort of one's home ideal. however, in some countries where naps are taken, such as Northern Spain, Southern Argentina, Chile, the climate is similar to that of Canada and Northern Europe. besides the climate, in many countries with the habit it is common to have the largest meal of the day in afternoon, in contrast with other countries where only a lighter lunch is taken.
Also Turkey and Iraq.
